With a degree in Psychology from the University of Salamanca and a degree in Geography and History from the University of Zaragoza, he also holds a PhD from the University of Zaragoza. He is a associated professor in the Department of Psychology and Sociology at the University of Zaragoza. He has been a member and representative of Spain in the Femicide Across Europe network, Cost Action IS-1206. He has also been PROMETEO Researcher for the Government of Ecuador at the Universidad Técnica del Norte, Ibarra (Ecuador) (2014-2015). He is also a researcher at the Grupo de Estudios Sociales y Económicos del Tercer Sector (GESES). From 2016 to 2022 he directed the Master's Degree in Gender Relations at the University of Zaragoza.
His lines of research focus on gender issues, intimate partner violence and social services. She has published more than 60 articles, book chapters and books in various journals and publishing houses. Of her publications, 21 are in the Web of Science and have received 154 citations (h-index: 8). Some of her most significant publications are: "Sexism, distorted thoughts and violence in intimate partner relationships in Ecuadorian university students from areas related to well-being and health (Universitas Psychologica, 2017)", "Stars in the sky. Femicide and violence against women in the Ecuadorian highlands" (2016), "Theories of femicide and their significance for social research" (Current Sociology, 2016), "Fear, conformity and silence: Violence in intimate partner relationships in rural areas of Ecuador" (Psychosocial Intervention, 2015), "Difficulties, skills and therapy strategies in interventions with court-ordered batterers in Spain" (Aggression and Violent Behavior, 2013), "Male abuser: Type of violence and perception of the relationship with the victim" (Psychological Reports, 2013) and "Male abusers. Stories of male violence" (2010). A complete list of his publications can be found in Google Scholar where he accumulates (07/10/2022) a total of 1640 citations (h-index: 21; i10-index: 30). On the other hand, the number of citations accumulated in DIALNET METRICS is 123 (07/10/2022). He holds two CNEAI sexenios of research (2008-13; 2014-19) and two ACPUA sexenios (2006-2011; 2012-2017).
In recent years he has participated in various research projects and contracts as principal investigator, including: "Foundations for the legislative initiative before situations of abuse and aggression in intellectual disability" (2019), "Research project to find out data on sexual violence suffered by women in Aragon" (2018), "Research project to find out the perception that the Aragonese population has about the different forms of violence against women" (2018) or "Language and behaviour in relationships between young people in the autonomous community of Aragon" (2018).
