I am Full-Professor of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Zaragoza since July 2020. I have published more than 70 papers in journals included in JCR and other databases. I have three six-year national research periods (2000-2017). On more than 30 occasions, I have been invited to lecture in international workshops and research seminars, participating in more than 60 scientific congresses. I have carried out long research stays in national and foreign universities (from the United States, Chile, United Kingdom, France and Germany, among others).  I have directed five PhD students: J.J. Royo (2008); R. Ponce, (2011); L. Abadias (2016); M. Martínez (2016); and L. Sánchez (2019). I am currently co-directing J. Oliva-Maza (with J.E. Galé) and A. Mahillo (with L. Abadias). In January 2015 I was accredited as full professor by the National Agency of Evaluation and Quality (ANECA-Spain).

My main research interests are mainly focused on Functional Analysis, in particular Operator Theory. I also work in other areas of Mathematical Analysis such as Banach algebras, fractional calculus, differential equations, combinatorics and approximation theory. For more than 25 years, I have actively participated in more than fifteen research projects between national (MTM, being in the last three calls, principal investigator 2 in two and principal investigator 1) and regional (Consolidated Group, Government of Aragon). According to Scopus, I have published 59 articles and received 371 citations in 261 papers during the period (2005-2023); my h-index is 10 and eight of these publications have more than 20 citations.

I have been evaluator of several national projects for the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva (ANEP) and referee of prestigious mathematical research journals such as JFA, JAT, Chaos, JMAA, JNT, MZ; ,,,,. I have also been a member of more than a dozen doctoral thesis tribunals in Spain and abroad.

Research management is also linked to my current activity. Since February 2022 I am the director of the University Institute of Mathematics and Applications (IUMA) of the University of Zaragoza; previously I was deputy director (2018-2020) and professor-secretary (2009-2018). I am also part of the coordination of REDIUM for the three-year period (2022-2024). In these almost 15 years of management, he has organized and helped in the organization of more than 120 mathematical events, highlighting mainly the Biennial Congress of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society 2017 (with more than 500 participants) and the CME/CEDYA 2022 congress (more than 300 attendees).

I have been principal investigator in several transfer projects related to the history of science, mathematics education and outreach, awarded by FECYT. I have co-directed a documentary about the Spanish mathematician Zoel García de Galdeano (2018) and the artistic creation "Ars Qubica" (2016). I have collaborated as a scientific advisor with the company Sintregua Comunicación. I have published more than 40 articles in newspapers or magazines. I have received the Third Millennium Award for popularization in Aragón 2021 and the Aragón Investiga 2022 Award for the work done on the mathematician Maria Andresa Casamayor.
