José Yagüe-Fabra holds a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering (2000) and a PhD in Machine Tool Metrology (2005), both from the University of Zaragoza (Spain). José is Full Professor at the Department of Design and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Zaragoza, and since 2019 he serves as Dean of the School of Engineering and Architecture, with more than 4500 students and 600 faculty members.

His research work is focused on precision design, micro nano metrology, machine tool metrology, large scale precision engineering, computed tomography and precision manufacturing. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals and conferences. Jose has been the project coordinator or member of the research team in more than 30 research projects and has supervised over 80 MSc and PhD thesis.

In 2021 he became a Fellow of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP). He is also a member of the European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (euspen) since 2011 and belongs to its council since 2022. He is also a full member of SME (the Society of Manufacturing Engineers), Sigma Xi (the Scientific Research Honor Society) and a member of the Manufacturing Engineering Society. He has been a member of international scientific committees for euspen, Manufacturing Engineering Society International Conference, CIRP Global Web Conference (CIRPe), CIRP CAT Conference, CIRP Conference on Manufacturing Systems, and International Conference on Industrial Computed Tomography.

One of his main interests is the international cooperative work with other professionals of the Precision Engineering field. So far Jose has co-authored peer-reviewed papers with researchers from 25 institutions in 11 countries. He has also carried out teaching or research stays at WZL-RWTH (Germany), TU Graz (Austria), DTU (Denmark), VGU (Vietnam) and UNCC (USA).

José is an editorial board member of the journals Nanomanufacturing and Metrology (Springer), Manufacturing Letters (Elsevier) and Metrology (MDPI). He serves as reviewer for peer-reviewed journals on a regular basis. Some of them are: CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology, Measurement, Precision Engineering, Measurement Science & Technology, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Sensors, Materials, Applied Sciences, Mechanism and Machine Theory, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation & Measurement, Robotics and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.

His management background at the University of Zaragoza includes 5 years as Dean and 8 years as Vice Dean at the School of Engineering and Architecture, the coordination of postgraduate programs and the coordination of the PhD program in Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
