I am a 4th year PhD student in the Genetic Regulation and Physiology of Cyanobacteria Research Group (CYANOFUR) at the University of Zaragoza, under the supervision of Dr. María F. Fillat and Dr. Emma Sevilla. My research is focused on genetic regulation in cyanobacteria, specifically on the regulation mediated by Ferric Uptake Regulator (FUR) proteins. I have published 4 articles in scientific journals indexed in the JCR and I also visited the Pakrasi Lab (Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, United States of America) as part of my PhD to learn about CRISPR/Cpf1 in cyanobacteria. I have also participated in the organization of congresses and have presented more than 60 communications, both poster as talks, in more than 30 national and international congresses, having presented 15 oral communications and having received 3 awards for best oral communication.

I hold a BSc in Biotechnology and a MSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Zaragoza. In both cases I graduated with an Extraordinary Award and received the AGM Award for the best record of my faculty. Both my Final Degree and my Final Master's Projects were qualified with Honors and both were awarded by the ‘Chair of Cooperation for Development’. My Final Master's Project was also awarded by the ‘Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry’. I have completed several complementary training programs in Bioinformatics, I have a good command of English (Level C2, Certificate of Proficiency in English) and I have completed more than 500 hours of training in more than 50 certified courses on bioinformatics, teaching, communication skills or interpersonal skills.

I combine my research work with teaching tasks at the university. I have supervised 300 hours of extracurricular internships and I have taught subjects in the Degree in Biotechnology and the Master's Degree in Compulsory Secondary Education Teachers from the University of Zaragoza. I have also co-directed 7 Final Degree Projects (2 in progress) and 1 Master's Final Project (in progress), three of which have been awarded by the ‘Chair of Cooperation for Development’. I have a great commitment to teaching and education, and that is why I also belong to the board of directors of the ‘University Students with Childhood’ Association and I work as a volunteer in the 'El Cañar' Association, which provides school support to children at risk of social exclusion.
