Jorge González Chapela is associate professor of economics at the Centro Universitario de la Defensa (CUD) de Zaragoza. He is a graduate from the University of Santiago de Compostela (1998) and holds a PhD from the University Pompeu Fabra (2004). He has been at CUD since 2013. Prior to that, he was assistant professor at the universities of Alicante (2005-2011) and Girona (2011-2013), and Research and Training Network researcher at the Mannheim (now Munich) Center for the Economics of Aging (2004-2005). He mainly studies labor economics issues with the help of survey data and microeconometric techniques. He has been honored with the CUD Excellence in Teaching Award (2017), the Hacienda Pública Española/Review of Public Economics Best Reviewer Award (2022), and the Cross of Military Merit with White Decoration (2024).
