Dr. Jesús Yániz has been involved in various lines of research related to animal reproduction, maintaining close contact with producers and other research groups. He spearheaded the establishment and research activities of the recognized consolidated research group by the Government of Aragon, TECNOGAM (Gametic Manipulation Technologies), comprising over 10 participating researchers. He led this group from 2008 to 2017 when it merged with another consolidated group to form the current BIOFITER Reference Group, to which he belongs. Dr. Yániz has also initiated new research directions, such as the morpho-functional study of the female genital apparatus, the investigation into semen quality, preservation, and artificial insemination, as well as the recent focus on apicultural reproduction. In this context, he has driven the development of numerous national and regional research projects and contracts with companies (36 competitive research projects, 23 of which as the principal investigator, and 46 contracts with companies, 32 as the principal investigator). As a result, his scientific output has been substantial, with a notable number of high-quality publications, including 122 articles in SCI journals (most of which are situated in the top quartile of their category), 4 chapters in international books, along with numerous presentations at national and international conferences, articles in national journals, and more. His current H-index is 37 (Scopus). He has supervised three doctoral theses and numerous undergraduate and master's level research projects. Dr. Yániz has also completed four international stays, two during his predoctoral stage at Virginia Tech (Virginia, USA) and the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), and three postdoctoral stays at the University of Liverpool, the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire Toulouse, and the Institute for Bee Research Hohen Neuendorf.
