Clara Bayona graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Zaragoza in 2019. At the same university, she completed a Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a course in Tumour Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy. The researcher was trained in several international stays, including her final degree work in Ostrava, Czech Republic (ERASMUS Programme), and a stay as a fellow at the University of Bath, UK. In 2020, she obtained the DGA pre-doctoral fellowship, and continued her research career by doing her PhD thesis in the Tissue Microenvironment Lab (TME Lab) group, based on the study of glioblastoma and its progression in complex microfluidic models (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology PhD Programme). She is currently working on her thesis at the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Aragón (IIS Aragón) and the University of Zaragoza. During the thesis, she has made two international stays; in the NORLUX Neuro-oncology Laboratory group (Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg) and the company Elvesys (Paris, France). As an academic complement, the researcher has taught in the Department of Human Anatomy and Histology of the Faculty of Medicine and the Master's Degree in Tumour Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy, with a total of 180 hours divided into three subjects: General Histology I, Special Histology II and New Research Methods in Onco-immunology. To date, the PhD student has participated in 3 Q1 publications, has given an oral presentation at the EUROOCS 2022 European conference and a poster at the EANO 2023 European conference, in addition to presenting her work at various national symposia and conferences. She is a member of several associations, including EACR, ASEICA and EUROOCS, and actively participates in science outreach activities such as the podcast Agora: Great Interviews on Aragón Radio, as well as talks in schools for the Women and Girls in Science Day.
