Caridad López Granero (Almería-Spain, 1984) is Associate Professor at University of Zaragoza in Spain. PhD in Psychology with special mention “International Doctor” from University of Almería and Rovira i Virgili in 2013 with the thesis named “Organophosphates: Short and long term molecular and behavioral consequences”. She has been previously worked at the University of Almería and Albert Einstein College of Medicine (New York) and carried out intense research activity of relevance to her specialisation and that has resulted in results reflected in scientific publications in prestigious journals all of which being included in the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR). Since 2006 Caridad López Granero has participated continuously in research projects obtained in competitive calls of Plan Nacional de I+D, the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences NIEHS of the United States, Antonio Gargallo University Foundation, Ibercaja and Centro Universitario de la Defensa de Zaragoza.
She has experience in leadership roles, appearing as the first author in journal publications included in JCR as well as corresponding author (See http://orcid.org/0000-0001-7781-3497). Caridad López Granero has maintained constant scientific production since 2009. Her works have been cited 181 times (ISI Web of Knowledge, Science Citation Index SCI), currently obtaining a Hirchs h index of scientific productivity of 7. In addition, eleven out of fourteen publications are placed in the first and second quartiles. She has presented various papers or posters at the most important international congresses, several plenary papers and by invitation, always being presented by the applicant on behalf of the group of authors. López-Granero is the lead researcher of 6 regional competitive projects based on the impact of environmental pollution on cognition and emotion functions and She is also the lead researcher responsible of the research group “Psychology: cognitive and social processes” since 2017. Based on the receipt of different scholarships, she has carried out long-term research stays in different Spanish universities (Rovira i Virgili University and Zaragoza University), as well as in foreign universities: Vanderbilt University Medical Center (United States of America) (6 months) supervised by Michael Aschner and University of Cambridge (UK) (4 months) supervised by Jeff Daley and Trevor Robins. She also obtained a post-doctoral contract (Research Fellow) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University (United States of America) (2013-2015, 24 months) with Michael Aschner.
Her research has focused on the effects of some environmental neurotoxins such as methylmercury and pesticides on the nervous system, cognitive and emotional functions as well as on inflammation and oxidative stress processes in the brain. |
