In 2008, I earned a PhD in Sociology from the University of Zaragoza (Spain), following the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology ten years earlier in Medellín (Colombia). I have a strong vocation for teaching, research, and social action. I have taught at the University of San Buenaventura (Colombia), San Jorge University, and the University of Zaragoza (Spain), delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects such as sociology, social work, gender studies, public policy, migration, and development cooperation.

I worked for four years in the field of social action as a social inclusion officer and intercultural mediator. Since 2005, I have been a researcher with the Social and Economic Studies Group of the Third Sector (GESES), a research group officially recognized as consolidated by the Government of Aragon. I am also affiliated with the University Research Institute for Employment, Digital Society and Sustainability (IEDIS).

I have participated in and coordinated research studies for the University of Zaragoza’s Chair in Development Cooperation, the Economic and Social Council of Aragon (CESA), the Zaragoza City Council, the Provincial Government of Zaragoza, the Regional Government of Aragon (DGA), and the Spanish National Institute of Public Administration (INAP).

I have published approximately thirty indexed scientific articles and an additional twenty publications including books and book chapters. Over the past sixteen years, I have participated in 25 research projects or research contracts, and I have collaborated with university programs in Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina.

In 2023, I was appointed Associate Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) in the area of Social Work and Social Services at the University of Zaragoza. In March 2025, I received accreditation for promotion to Full Professor (Catedrático de Universidad). In the coming years, my research will focus on the evaluation of public and social policies, and the analysis of coexistence, cohesion, and social integration processes in complex urban environments.
