Full Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of University of Zaragoza, Spain. Lecturer from 1994 to 2003. Four periods of six years on research work (sexenios) recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science. Last 01/01/2023.
60 scientific articles published in JCR ranked journals (25 Q1, 20 Q2, 11 Q3, 4 Q4).
80 conference contributions, most of them international. He has been involved in 48 R&D projects and 91 contracts. Supervisor of 10 PhD theses and 125 graduate and postgraduate theses.
IEEE Senior Member (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, USA).
Member of 23 doctoral thesis evaluation boards.
He has made several research stays in the Joint Research Centre of European Comission (5 months, 2019), UNESP, Brasil (1 month, 2006), USB, Caracas, Venezuela (1 month, 2001), FEUP, Porto, Portugal (1 month, 2021).
He was the founder in 2005 of the research group “Strategic Management of Electrical Energy”, officialy recognized by the Government of Aragon, Spain.
Vicedean of the School of Engineering - University of Zaragoza (2004-2007). Director of undergraduate study “Grado en Ingeniería de Tecnologías Industriales” - University of Zaragoza (2010-2014). Member of the board and secretary of the Association of Professional Engineers in Aragon and La Rioja (2005-2017).
He has given more than 150 technical courses and presentations. More than 200 press mentions and contributions in newspapers, radio and TV in the last years.
His areas of scientific interest are electricity markets and vulnerability analysis of critical infrastructure.
