Associate professor (tenured) in the Department of Design and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Zaragoza. With a 18 years
experience, his teaching activity turns around bachelor and master subjects related to Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Metrology and
Precision Engineering. He has supervised six doctoral thesis (4 additional thesis in progress), and more than thirty bachelor and master
thesis. These 6 doctors are currently working as lecturers or researches at various universities or companies in Mexico and Spain.
His lines of research are centred around precision engineering and dimensional metrology applied either to the design and development of
new systems, or the improvement of equipment such as machine tools, additive manufacturing systems or coordinate measuring
machines. This activity is carried out as a member of the Manufacturing Engineering and Advanced Metrology Group (GIFMA), formally
recognized as a research group by Gobierno de Aragón.
He has been a postdoctoral visiting researcher in manufacturing engineering groups at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) for six
months (2011), and at the University of Notthingham for four months (2016).
He has published more than 30 research papers in different peer reviewed journals (22 JCR), and 60 conference contributions. He has
also participated in more than 20 research projects, being lead researcher (PI) in three national MINECO three-year projects.
2 recognized research six-year periods by the CNEAI (2004-2009, 2010-2016).
He is member of the Manufacturing Engineering Society (SIF-MES), the Aragon Institute of Engineering Research (I3A), and the American
Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). He collaborates as a reviewer for several JCR journals (Precision Engineering, Measurement
Science and Technology, Measurement) and conferences related with manufacturing technology and dimensional metrology (International
Conference & Exhibition de la European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology, Manufacturing Engineering Society
International Conference).
