Alejandro González de Agüero awarded a PhD in Sport and Exercise Sciences in 2011, specializing in body composition and physical condition in different populations, and the effects of physical exercise on these variables. He obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in his year. After obtaining a PhD, he worked for 3 years at Aberystwyth University, in Wales (United Kingdom), as a Lecturer in Exercise Physiology until 2015, at which point he obtained a position as Lecturer at the University of Zaragoza. In 2020 he was promoted to Senior Lecturer and in 2021, to Reader. He is currently Vice Dean and Program Leader of the BSc in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences, and a member of the GENUD research group. In addition to teaching undergraduate and Master's Degree in Physical Assessment and Training for Health at the University of Zaragoza, he collaborates with other Masters at different universities (UCLM, UCAM). He has more than 70 international publications in JCR journals, in addition to a multitude of book chapters, and more than 140 communications to national and international conferences. He has participated in more than 20 research projects, regional, national and European; acting as PI in 3 of them. He has successfully supervised 5 doctoral theses, 7 master's thesis and more than 25 BSc dissertations, and has acted as an evaluating tribunal in all these types of academic works. He is currently supervising 2 doctoral theses that are in different stages of completion. Since 2012 he evaluates projects for Research Agency in Spain, and since 2010 he regularly reviews articles for different Spanish and international magazines. In addition, he is part of the Editorial Committee of the journal Apunts Medicina de l ’Esport, and Nutrición Hospitalaria (included in the JCR).
