PhD in Mathematics. Since 1994, Professor of Economic Statistics and Decision Support Systems at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zaragoza, accumulating 34 years of service. Permanent member of the Zaragoza Multicriteria Decision Group (GDMZ), led by Prof. José María Moreno. GDMZ has been consistently recognised by the Government of Aragon as a Consolidated Research Group (2001–2014), awarded Excellent status (2008), and designated as a Reference Group (2017, 2020, and subsequent evaluations).

Deputy Secretary General of ASEPELT (International Association of Applied Economics) since 2015, and Editor Director of Asepelt.org. Regular reviewer for 23 international journals. Member of Programme Committees for several international conferences, including WSKS, EWG-DSS, ASEPELT, and GDN.

Appointed Independent Specialist in participation, e-governance, and e-cognocracy at the Culture Council of Zaragoza City Council, serving from its inception (2016) until its dissolution (2021).

My research focuses on Multicriteria Decision Making, with substantial methodological and technological contributions:

- Development of advanced visual data analytics in e-cognocracy contexts.
- Design of trust and reputation indicators for decision-makers in group decision-making via social networks.
- Application of Artificial Intelligence for the extraction and analysis of textual arguments from social media.

These lines of work have led to innovations in modelling preference shifts and consensus-building in group decision problems, as well as in the identification of relevant arguments and social leaders in public debate.

I have participated in 33 research projects (21 competitively funded). My work has been published in 27 national and international journals, complemented by over 40 seminars delivered at European universities and extensive conference contributions and outreach activities.

Practical applications of the group’s research span Environmental Management, Logistics, and Public Decision-Making, grounded in the e-cognocracy model developed by Prof. Moreno. One notable implementation—participatory budgeting in the municipality of Cadrete—received the EPSA 2011 Best Practice award and was a finalist for the UNPSA.

My present work integrates large-scale visualisation techniques and social network analysis for discrete decision-making problems machine learning approaches for the automated analysis of emotions expressed in social media texts.
