Full Professor, University of Zaragoza, Department of Electrical Engineering. University professor since 2004 (full time since 2010). 5 five-year teaching periods and 3 six-year research periods. H-index 38 (Scopus) with 7853 cites in 6477 documents (september 2024).  
Published more than 70 articles in journals with impact index JCR in the fields of renewable energy (PV, wind, grid-connected or stand-alone systems), electricity storage (advanced battery models, hydrogen) and other fields. More than 40 communications in congresses, most of them international. Co-author of 5 books and 7 book chapters. He has participated in 11 R+D+i projects (main researcher in 3 of them) and in 15 contracts. At the moment he is the main researcher of two national projects about energy storage (batteries, hydrogen, pumped hydro storage). Author of two patents in operation (iHOGA and MHOGA softwares, web: https://ihoga.unizar.es/en/). Direction of 9 doctoral PhD theses, 30 final master's projects and more than 40 final degree projects.
He belongs to the research group "Strategic Management of Energy", and has spent 3 months at the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR, Porto, Portugal) and another 4 months at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Addour (UPPA, Pau, France).
He is editor of Batteries, Energies and Applied Sciences (Switzerland) journals, and has been guest editor in 8 special issues of these journals. Reviewer of scientific articles of journals with impact index (JCR) and evaluator of R+D+I projects (AENOR).
Interest and experience in generation of electricity through renewable sources (off-grid systems and grid-connected systems), advanced optimization techniques and storage of electrical energy (advanced battery models, hydrogen, pumped hydro storage).
