In 2006 I obtained my Doctorate degree from the University of Zaragoza, after completing my thesis in the Physiology Unit of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in 2007. In this same unit, I have held positions as Assistant, Doctor Assistant and and since 2017, I am Associate Professor. I have carried out research stays at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom, 2006), at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain, 2007) and at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium, 2008), and a Master's Degree in Advanced Bioinformatic Analysis at the University of Pablo Olavide (Sevilla, Spain, 2021).
Among my lines of research are:
1.-Study of the effects of intestinal dysbiosis induced by antibiotics: alterations in the intestinal microbiota and in the host immune system
2.-Evaluation of the biological properties of nutritional compounds (from milk) in various cellular and animal models: modulation of the intestinal microbiota and the immune system
3.-Study of the host microbiota-gut interaction mechanisms that regulate motility and other intestinal functions
4.-Evaluation of the toxicity, biological and anticancer properties and mechanisms of action of organic (carbon nanotubes) and inorganic (gold compounds) chemical compounds in various cell and animal models.
