José M. Moneva is Full Professor of Accounting & Finance (University of Zaragoza, UZ). His research on corporate sustainability and social responsibility began with academic work in social and environmental accountinga & reporting, notably the seminal article in the Spanish Journal of Accounting and Finance (1996, with F. Llena). His collaboration with other groups, such as CICSMA led by Prof. Carrasco, and researchers in the field-Carlos Larrinaga, Jan Bebbington (CSEAR, University of St. Andrews), Roger Burritt (Australian National University), and Stephan Schaltegger (Center for Social Management, University of Leuphana)-has enabled him to develop research recognized nationally and internationally (high number of citations, WOS-1958). Collaboration with researchers and groups-Mª Jesús Muñoz (Sogres-UJI), Michele Andreaus (University of Trento), Rodrigo Lozano (University of Gavle), and the CIRCE Institute-has resulted in various high-impact projects and scientific works.

For example, Moneva, Rivera & Muñoz (2007) is included in the meta-analysis of the most relevant articles on CSR (Aigle et al., 2008, Business Ethics). He has been main researcher on several competitive projects, including five (5) in R&D calls from MICINN/State Research Agency. He coordinates an excellence research group (https://ecocircular.unizar.es/). He has achieved a high-impact scientific output, with 50 JIF articles (most in Q1 and Q2) and a high h-index in his field (WOS h-index 26). Over the years, he has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences, notably participating in two symposia of the European Accounting Association Congress. He has presented more than 100 conference papers, most at international conferences with external review.

He is (or has been) a member of national and international committees: Sustainability Advisory Committee (ICAC), FEE Sustainability Group, Global Reporting Initiative Economic Subgroup, EFRAG Sustainability Reporting, among others.
He has supervised 15 doctoral theses (four with international distinction) and is currently supervising four more. He has mentored fellows from the Aragonese and National Governments. His medium- and long-term research lines continue those initiated in previous projects, which have produced high-impact publications in the field (Management, Business, Accounting, Finance) (Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Management, AAAJ, etc.).

Collaboration with CIRCE and other engineering research groups specializing in energy and resource efficiency represents a step forward, introducing circular economy into the measurement, accounting, and reporting of sustainability performance.
He teaches undergraduate (Finance & Accounting Grade) and master's courses (UNIZAR, UNED, UJI, UBU, etc.) in social and environmental accounting and reporting. He is also co-director of the postgraduate program in Sustainability and CSR Management (UNIZAR). Finally, since 2006 he has held various administrative positions and was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNIZAR (2015-2023).
