Isabel Ezquerra is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zaragoza. In 2023 she completed her doctoral thesis, funded by the Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional (FPU 2016/06737), obtaining an international mention, an outstanding Cum Laude grade and the extraordinary Doctorate award from the University of Zaragoza. Previously, she completed her Master's (2015) and Bachelor's (2013) studies at the University of Zaragoza, obtaining the Extraordinary End of Degree Award. Since September 2023 she has been accredited as a Contracted Professor with a PhD by ANECA.

Her research focuses on urban morphology and public space for its study, diagnosis and intervention. The object of her thesis proposes a comparative study of the quality of public space generated by the two main urban fabrics that make up the first residential peripheries of European cities by approaching their urban form from a graphic, analytical and operational approach. The relationship between theory and practice stands out as another of the objectives of her work. The "Balsas POSITIVO" project, carried out within the framework of an agreement with the Sociedad Municipal Zaragoza Vivienda (2021-22), aims at the urban regeneration of one of the housing estates that is part of the case studies of her research. Prior to the start of her research career, she also participated in the "Progress of the Urbanization Project for the surroundings of the Canfranc International Station", carried out in an agreement with the Diputación General de Aragón (2016-17). As a result of her research activity, she has participated in more than 15 national and international conferences, published 6 articles in indexed journals and book chapters. She has also been a member of the organizing committee of the II ISUF-H International Conference (2018) and participated in various dissemination and outreach forums (MEDS Workshop, COAA and Ibercaja).

Member of the Urban Landscapes and Contemporary Project (PUPC) research group at the University of Zaragoza, she is part as researcher N1 of the PER-START research project (PID2020-116893RB-I00). She has also participated in other international (530197-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-IT- TEMPUS-JPCR) and national (BIA2014-60059-R) projects. In the development of her research work, she has carried out two research stays at the Politecnico di Milano (Italy, June-July 2019) and at the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto (Portugal, January-April 2021) financed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and by the Erasmus+ program respectively. She has also developed her teaching work in Bachelor's and Master's subjects at the University of Zaragoza. During her predoctoral stage linked to the area of ¿¿Urban Planning and Territorial Planning (2018-22) and to Architectural Composition (2022-23) as an associate professor.
