My thesis was awarded "excellent" cum laude, and I also obtained the European mention of doctorate and the Extraordinary Doctorate Award of the University of Zaragoza. The purpose of my thesis was to undertake an analysis of the sound-musical element of Prehistory from three points of view: a study of the prehistoric European aerophones made on animal hard material through of Experimental Archaeology; an approximation to the Archaeoacoustics of prehistoric Levantine rock art shelters; and an exploration of the sound-musical elements identified in the  prehistoric Levantine rock art.

During my doctoral studies, I earned a four-year FPU Fellowship funded by Ministry of Education and Science of Spain from May 2007. This allowed me to undertake research stays at the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain), Université de Bordeaux 1 (France) and Eberhard Karls Universität de Tübingen (Germany), and to participate in 5 research projects, two of them international.

I have published 38 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 18 in international journals (7 of IF) and 20 in national journals, as well as, 2 article in international publication, 10 papers in national publications, and a book as co-editor. I have also presented papers at 35 scientific events: 23 international conferences and 12 national conferences.

I am Chairman of the Working Group on Musical Archeology of the Spanish Society of Musicology (SEdeM), member of the Centro de Estudios Turiasonenses (CET) as part of its Archeology area (which I have coordinated since March 2015) and member of editorial board of Tvriaso (CET). This has allowed me to develop a wide range of different skills such as heritage management, communication, coordination of research groups and organization of scientific events.

My research experience has mainly involved the Music Archaeology, but I have also undertaken some studies in Prehistory and Archaeology in the Moncayo area (Spain), as well as in Musicology (medieval and modern music).
Currently, my lines of research are:
-Archaeo-organological study of prehistoric musical instruments through Experimental Archeology and Traceology.
-Archaeoacoustics in Paleolithic caves and post-paleolithic shelters and their relationship with prehistoric Rock Art.
-Prehistoric rock art and its relationship to the sound and musical event.
-Archeology of the Moncayo area and the Queiles river.
-Medieval and modern music form Cathedral of Tarazona.
