Dr. Pueyo Campos holds a Doctorate in Human Geography from the University of Zaragoza, having been awarded the Extraordinary Bachelor's Degree Prize (1989), the Doctoral Prize (1995), and the Research Prize (1992) by the University of Zaragoza and the Social Council of the Government of Aragon (2014). Since 2020, he has served as a Professor of Human Geography in the Department of Geography and Spatial Planning at the University of Zaragoza.

Since 1998, he has been a member of the GEOT (Spatial Planning Studies Group), a consolidated applied research group, which he has led since 2011. Since 2016, he has also directed the Territory, Society, and Geographical Visualisation Chair.

Dr. Pueyo Campos has undertaken 22 research stays across seven countries, totalling over 156 weeks. Notable among these were visits to the École Centrale de Lille, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique de Lille, and the Université de Toulouse Jean-Jaurès. This international visibility is further underscored by his coordination of two special issues for the journals M@ppemonde (indexed in Scopus) and Sud-Ouest Européen. Revue Géographique des Pyrénées et du Sud-Ouest (classified in JCR at the time of publication and currently in Scopus).

A particular emphasis throughout his career has been placed on fostering applied research and its transfer to both public and private sectors. This commitment is evidenced by his participation in over 109 R&D+i research projects and contracts, serving as principal investigator for 63 of these. Noteworthy projects include: 1 POCTEFA European Project, 1 FEDER project, 6 R&D+i (FYCIT) or "Retos" projects, 2 from the Ministry of Public Works, 1 AECID project, 3 from the Pyrenees Working Community, 6 from the University of Zaragoza, and 5 from the Zaragoza City Council.

Regarding contracts, his engagement spans various scales, including collaborations with private companies: 3 European, 1 AECID, 4 national, 13 regional, 8 provincial, 17 municipal, and 12 with private companies or entities. Dr. Pueyo Campos has demonstrated a significant capacity for securing economic resources, amounting to over €1,900,000.

Knowledge transfer has been a priority throughout his trajectory, manifesting in 14 research transfer actions encompassing dissemination, advanced training, guidance, and technical reports incorporating innovations in territorial calculation, representation, and valuation. He served as principal investigator and vice-president for the project to redesign the new National Atlas of Spain for the National Geographic Institute.

His research output comprises 49 articles, 43 of which are published in quality-indexed journals (23 in JCR, SJR, or Scopus); 29 book chapters; 5 books; 28 didactic publications; 16 technical reports; and 60 presentations at national and international conferences. Of particular note for their dissemination are the monograph on population within the National Atlas of Spain and the publication in the Journal of Maps (awarded "Best Map" in 2012). He has actively supported academic development by supervising 11 doctoral theses and over 50 specialised professionals.

Dr. Pueyo Campos is a member of four editorial boards for scientific journals: Géotransports, Geofocus, Geographicalia, and Sud-Ouest Européen. He participated in the XVI Congress on Population in Spain in June 2021 and is scheduled to attend the XXXV Crue-Sustainability Conference in October 2024.
