Alicia Valero Delgado is a chemical engineer and earned a European PhD from the University of Zaragoza in 2008. She also completed a Master's degree in Energy Efficiency and Industrial Ecology. She is currently a Full Professor in the area of Thermal Engines and Machines and the director of the Industrial Ecology Group at the Energaia Institute. Her research has focused on the exergy assessment of the Earth's mineral capital, a topic she has worked on since the beginning of her career and for which she has received four international awards. She is the co-author of over one hundred scientific publications and book chapters, as well as numerous contributions to international conferences. She has participated in a large number of national and international projects, all related to the study and optimization of energy and materials. She has co-supervised eight PhD theses and has supervised numerous undergraduate and master's theses. She is a member of several international expert committees related to the optimization of natural resources.
